The young men of the Sigma Beta Club (SBC) of Cleveland celebrated Black History month at
Benedictine High School in a special way this year.
The SBC sold and served a traditional soul food lunch to students, faculty and staff of
Benedictine High School on February 15. The menu would make any soul food restaurant
proud; greens, macaroni and cheese potato salad, green beans, fried chicken, meatballs,
fried turkey, deserts that would make "Big Momma" proud and much more. No one left the
cafeteria unsatisfied (unless they did not have time to buy a second plate).
The food was so great, the cafeteria manager purchased the remaining food from the SBC
and served it the next day in the cafeteria and we all know soul food is even better the
next day! The SBC did presales for the lunch at $3.00 per plate and managed to out sale
the cafeteria in daily sales 2 to 1 by serving over 250 meals.
The Brothers of Gamma Alpha Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. salute our young
Black men of the Sigma Beta Club for an outstanding job.
